A-Frame Check-in & check-out procedures
Check In
Check-in is 2:00 p.m. Check-out is 1:00 p.m.
Before starting a fire remove ash from the wood stove. Disperse cold ash outside, well away from the cabin.
Please refer to the operating sheet for detailed instructions on proper use of the wood stove.
Carry your printed or electronic recreation.gov permit, to assist with any reservation conflicts or unauthorized usage.
Remove security measures from all doors (back door and upstairs alcove door) for easy exit in case of emergency. Familiarize yourself with the locations of all fire extinguishers.
Water is available by melting snow, or from Tilly Jane Creek, located beyond the condemned cook shed where the trail crosses the creek. You may need to dig an access hole. We recommend that all water be treated.
Extra lantern mantles are located on sign board or in lockers.
This is a shared cabin. Please connect with your new friends, share your plans, and work together to ensure a nice stay for all.
check out
Leave nothing behind. Pack out all trash, even if it’s not yours. Leave it better for the next visitors.
Clean hard surfaces with provided cleaning supplies.
Split kindling and restock the firewood box for the next party.
Sweep, and generally clean up after yourselves.
Bring in all tools from the wood alcove and replace them in the supply box.
Leave lanterns hanging from ceiling. They are fragile.
Thoroughly check for misplaced gear; take home what you came with.
Re-secure back door, upstairs alcove and balcony doors, replacing 2x4s and locking them.
Renters are responsible for locking the metal gate before departing. Speak with your fellow overnight users before leaving and confirm that the last overnight guest will lock the cabin.
Finally, the cabin remains open to day trippers IF OVERNIGHT GUESTS ARE PRESENT. If you are preparing to leave and day trippers are present, please ask them to leave before locking up. They will understand!
