Our mission is to inspire new generations of stewards to keep remote, historic spaces and natural landmarks open, safe, and inclusive.
Through our network of local partners, we preserve, protect, and promote historic spaces in the Pacific Northwest so that everyone can continue to experience the traditions of outdoor recreation.

Be open to adventure.
We plan for the unexpected. We welcome the unknown and know that every day is unique. We believe in our collective capacity to solve any problem with resilience and resourcefulness. We love to be away from it all, surrounded by friends and what nature provides.
Create space for joy.
We do it for the love of the backcountry. From tending the trails to enabling warmer winter getaways, we find joy in each moment of keeping the backcountry available for recreation in all seasons. We preserve so that we can all experience life in nature.
Leave it better.
We honor historic spaces and nature by minimizing our impact on the original structures and the environment. We maintain, with minimal modification, and with respect for the original. We plan for packing it out every time, and we inspire others to learn what sustainable, shared recreation is all about!

Generosity is at the core of everything we do. We live to promote shared experiences in safe environments and ask everyone to consider the next adventurer. We pride ourselves in hosting inclusive work parties, where everyone has a hand in making this place better.
